The Waalbrug

The Waalbrug

The Waal Bridge connects Zaltbommel with the other side of the river and is one of the most recognizable sights in the area. It’s especially beautiful at sunset, when the lights reflect on the water. Fun fact: The bridge became famous thanks to the Dutch poem “De moeder de vrouw” by Martinus Nijhoff, which describes the poet seeing his mother standing on the bridge.
